Catahoula Energy acquires mineral rights and royalties with fair, transparent offers and a process built on trust. We make selling simple — so you can move forward with confidence.
Founded by industry veterans with over two decades of combined experience in mineral and royalty acquisitions, Catahoula Energy was built on a simple premise: mineral owners deserve a buyer who treats them with respect and transparency.
Our team has collectively closed hundreds of transactions and deployed tens of millions of dollars, primarily across the Eagle Ford and South Texas. We understand the complexities of mineral ownership because we've spent our entire careers in this space — working in acquisitions, finance, and operations at institutional-level firms before founding our own company to do things the right way.
We believe life is complex enough. That's why we make working with us straightforward and hassle-free.
Our offers and communications are clear and easy to understand. You'll have a dedicated point of contact to guide you through every step. No question is too small or off-limits — our team is here whenever you need us.
With years of industry experience, we believe in transparency. We openly share how we evaluate your property and arrive at our offer price, giving you the information you need to make a confident decision.
Our team brings the highest standards to every interaction. From initial contact through closing, we handle every detail with care, ensuring a smooth experience and keeping you informed along the way.
We're not just another offer in your mailbox. We're mineral owners' advocates backed by institutional-quality analysis.
Our proprietary technology analyzes current drilling activity, production data, and market conditions to deliver fair offers that reflect true asset value.
Once you accept our offer, we handle all the title work and paperwork. Most transactions close within 30 days with funds wired directly to you.
We respect your timeline and your decision. Our offers come with no strings attached, and we're happy to answer questions even if you decide not to sell.
We've included testimonials below from people who've worked with Catahoula. We know every company shares reviews — and while they're helpful, nothing beats a real conversation. That's why we'd love to connect you with someone who's been exactly where you are now.
I am a professional landman and was approached last year by Mr. Robey to purchase some mineral interests I had recently inherited located in DeWitt County. My first thought was, "here comes a low-ball offer from a company I haven't heard of that will probably never close on the deal." Well, I was pleasantly surprised. We quickly negotiated a deal that I was very satisfied with. Within 30 days from our initial meeting, I had executed the mineral deed and received my payment via wire transfer. I would highly recommend their firm if you are interested in selling your mineral or royalty interests.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Robey for outstanding service in conducting an oil/gas transaction for me. Their diligence in completing the transaction was professional, timely, and most competent. This was a difficult time due to family illness, but Catahoula never wavered in their commitment to completion. Mr. Robey's price offer exceeded others, and payment was exactly to commitment. I am fortunate to have responded to their inquiry letter, and to have found a company with such integrity.
I inherited a small portion of a couple of oil fields shared with many other family members. Over the past several years I had received numerous offers to purchase my mineral rights. Most company offers were low. I received a letter from Colton Robey. The initial offering amount was much more than the other companies had offered. Colton made the process easy and was very professional. He will give you a fair and honest price and not some weird, complicated formulas that some other companies offer.
I recently sold my Eagle Ford mineral interests, in 3 separate units, to Catahoula. All communication during the process was well-informed and timely. Colton and the guys did exactly what they said they would do. It was a pleasure executing the transaction with Colton.
Colton, I want you to know that the money I got from Catahoula last year was used to finish my house. I had sold another house and built a small barndominium. It was partially finished and I completely finished it with the money from you all. Thank you so much!
I had no idea how to go about selling mineral rights and really hadn't thought about selling until I received your letter. It was much easier than I thought it would be.
Want to hear it firsthand? We'd love to connect you with someone who's been exactly where you are. If you choose Catahoula and it makes a difference for you, all we ask is that you consider paying it forward by chatting with someone else in the future.

In 2017, Colton co-founded Revere Resources as SVP of Operations, spearheading outbound efforts in the Eagle Ford and West Texas and driving the successful deployment of Revere's second fund, RR2. He and two fellow founders then launched Catahoula Energy, where he continues to shape strategic initiatives in the energy sector.
Outside of work, Colton enjoys time with his wife Katie and their children, Vann and Elle. He's often found at the family's San Leon retreat, hunting in Fredericksburg, or cheering for the Astros.
